Jungkook of BTS to release documentary 'I Am Still' in cinemas this September
Jungkook is heading to the big screen!
BTS’ Golden Maknae officially announced that his first documentary film, “I Am Still,” will premiere in cinemas worldwide on September 18. It will screen for a limited run.
In a video announcement on the BTS YouTube channel, Jungkook greeted ARMY and talked about what the film will feature.
“Starting with my first official solo track ‘Seven (feat. Latto)’ and throughout the promos for my studio album ‘Golden,’ I had a year filled with golden moments of happiness thanks to all the love that you gave me,” the singer said.
“For me, ‘Golden’ was filled with a series of continuous new challenges, the long journey that led up to a long album filled with songs of diverse genres. All the moments I connected with ARMY from all around the world through music and the behind-the-scenes stories that I didn’t get to share. It tells the full story of Jungkook as a solo artist," he added.
Among the never-before-seen footage include scenes from Jungkook’s international performances, his love for the fans, and his innermost thoughts throughout his journey of becoming a global popstar, the BTS Weverse page said.
“I hope you’re looking forward to it! See you soon!” Jungkook added.
“I Am Still” was first teased in July. Cinema schedules are up on jungkook-iamstill.com.
“GOLDEN” was released in November 2023. The 11-track album has the previously released hits “3D (feat. Jack Harlow),” as well as the clean and explicit versions of “Seven (feat. Latto).”
Jungkook is nominated for the MTV Video Music Awards 2024, for Best Collaboration and Best K-Pop, both for “Seven.”
He and fellow member Jimin have a travel show titled “Are You Sure?” which premiered in August.
The BTS members are currently serving in the South Korean military. Eldest member Jin was the first to be discharged in June.
BTS is expected to reconvene as a group in 2025.
