NIKI releases third album ‘Buzz’

NIKI released her third album “Buzz,” and it’s got everybody caught up in their feelings.

The 13-track compilation features NIKI reflecting on self-discovery, hard-earned wisdom, the unknown, acceptance, and hope, and maintains her signature intimate songwriting.

The Jakarta-born, Los Angeles-based artist was initially inspired to name the record after the budding growth she observed in her garden every spring.

The singer-songwriter said the album came about when she “went through an identity crisis.”

“It took a lot of trial and error, and I just stumbled upon pieces of myself along the way. I named it ‘Buzz’ because it feels like I'm on the precipice of something about to happen,” NIKI said in a press statement.

The music video of title track “Buzz” was also released on Friday, showing the literal line-by-line depiction of the lyrics, encapsulating the rush of raw emotion and bittersweet nerves of a budding romance.

NIKI will be heading to Manila for a two-night concert in February 2025 as part of her Buzz World Tour in support of the new album.

Aside from this album, the artist also released the single “24” in January.

NIKI held her first solo arena show in Manila in September 2023, which fans sold out in minutes. The concert made Filipino Moonchildren dance, cry, and feel hopeful again.

Her hit album “Nicole,” dropped in 2022, and featured the tracks “Before” and “The Apartment We Won’t Share.”

NIKI previously visited Manila in 2022 for the country’s first Head In the Clouds music and arts festival.

Other songs by NIKI include “Lowkey,” “Every Summertime,” “I Like U,” and “La La Lost You.”
