Miguel Tanfelix gets inspired by Carlos Yulo, tries learning backflips

Carlos Yulo's victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics has inspired many to try gymnastics, some jokingly and others a little more seriously.

Miguel Tanfelix is among those who just can't resist learning a few moves, and he did it for real!

On Instagram, the Sparkle actor shared a video of him learning backflips in a gymnastics facility with the help of a coach.

"Guys napanood ko si Carlos Yulo, ang galing, galing. Kaya ngayon ngayon gusto ko mag-aral ng backflip backflip," he said.

In the video, Miguel can be seen learning the move step by step, with safety equipment like mattresses so he won't hurt himself.

In the end, he was able to execute a successful backflip without any spotter on his final attempt!

Miguel is one of the athletic Kapuso stars, doing wakeboarding in his spare time. He currently stars in "Running Man Philippines" Season 2, which airs weekends at 7:15 p.m.

Carlos won two gold medals for the Philippines at this year's Olympics. He ruled the floor exercise and vault apparatus in men's gymnastics.

He also finished 12th in the men's all-around.

The Philippines currently has four medals in Paris. Aside from Carlos, Filipina boxers Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas both secured bronze medals in women's 57kg and women's 50kg, respectively.
