'Stardew Valley'-inspired farm game 'Fields of Mistria' is out on early access

Looking for a new farm game that might just scratch the itch that "Stardew Valley" left behind?

"Fields of Mistria" has been making waves since it was released on early access on Tuesday. Inspired by "Stardew Valley," and most particularly the OG farm sim RGP "Harvest Moon," the game likewise allows players to build the farm of their dreams.

It is set in Mistria, which is described as "an idyllic village tucked between forest and sea [that] has offered you an overgrown but full-of-potential homestead in exchange for your assistance."

And of course, there's magic and romance, too! Following a destructive earthquake, "strange magic begins to flow through the land," and it's the player's job to restore the town to its former glory.

NPC Studio, the game's developer, said that they plan on leaving "Fields of Mistria" on early access for roughly one year with regular content updates planned along the way.

They plan for the full version of the game to have "complete features, systems, and storylines."

"We plan to share more detailed roadmaps and patch notes via our social media channels as well as on our website and Steam page," they said. "We’ll be providing a summary of updates and upcoming features."

The current version allows players to grow over 50 crops through four seasons, craft over 600 items, complete over 50 museum sets, and upgrade their home and customize it with over 200 available items.

As for the villagers, there are over 30 of them available to befriend, 10 marriage candidates, and two special marriage candidates.

Already, "Fields of Mistria" has been garnered generally "overwhelmingly positive" reviews on Steam from over 900 users.

It is currently priced at P460 on Steam.

Meanwhile, "Stardew Valley" recently released a major update, and its creator, ConcernedApe, is working on his next game, "Haunted Chocolatier." —GMA Integrated News
