Katseye docuseries is coming to Netflix this August
Katseye is set to reveal the hard work they went through in their pre-debut days in an upcoming Netflix docuseries.
“Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE” follows 20 contestants from around the world, including Philippines' Sophia Laforteza, over a year-long journey as they compete for a spot in a girl group on the reality talent show “The Debut: Dream Academy.” They are now a one-of-a-kind global girl group formed using K-Pop methodologies.
The eight episodes will showcase the girls’ road to international stardom, including insight into the unique training and development program developed by HYBE and Geffen Records. It is directed by Emmy nominee Nadia Hallgren and produced by HYBE, Interscope Films, and Boardwalk Pictures.
“Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE” premieres on Netflix on August 21.
Philippines' Sophia, Daniela, Lara, and Megan from the USA, Manon from Switzerland, and Yoonchae from South Korea debuted as Katseye in late June.
Sophia was the only Filipino contestant on the reality show and is the first Filipino artist under HYBE, the same agency that manages global artists like BTS, Tomorrow X Together, Seventeen, Enhypen, NewJeans, and many more.
After earning her spot in Katseye, Sophia told her supporters, “Thank you for helping me make my dream come true.”
Katseye is set to release their debut EP, “SIS (Soft Is Strong),” in August. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
