Aries Night, Sassa Gurl collaborate on new version of single 'Aries Rising'

The Aries season may be over, but Aries Night is just getting started on her musical comeback.

Aries, an alum of “Drag Den Philippines,” first released “Aries Rising” in 2023. However, the drag queen felt it needed to be revamped to fully encapsulate her personal and artistic journey.

“I promised myself that I wouldn’t release new music until I had fully transformed and polished 'Aries Rising,'" the 27-year-old drag queen shared with GMA News Online.

"This song is the anthem of my past, and I wanted to ensure it reflected my growth and evolution as an artist,” she added.

Aries said she worked on the first version of “Aries Rising” in the middle of the airing of “Drag Den Philippines” Season 1, which she described as an overwhelming phase of her life, juggling between being a breadwinner and honing her artistry.

“Now that everything is fully realized, we re-recorded and rearranged the whole thing and decided to feature Sassa Gurl, someone that I really look up to as an artist and as a person,” she said.

Written by Aries, Sassa Gurl, Pancho Maniquis, and Meg Villanueva and produced by House of Manic, “Aries Rising” is set to stream on all music platforms starting on Friday.

Aries was one of the queens who competed on “Drag Den Philippines” S1, where she bagged the “Miss Understood” award after serving on-theme looks one after the other on the show.

Meanwhile, Sassa Gurl is set to star in an upcoming Cinemalaya film, “Balota,” alongside Marian Rivera. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
