Hank Green tries budots dance: 'It looks so easy, it's really hard'

Hank Green tried his hand dancing to budots!

The YouTuber shared his experience on TikTok.

Very much out of breath, he said, “Trying to do the original Filipino budots dance.”

Hank added, “It looks so easy, [but] it’s really hard.”

He then showed himself going low on the ground and doing the classic open-close leg movement.

“It’s just you’re f-ing down here. Okay, try to stay down low, but you move really slow,” he said.

“I’m too old,” Hank added when he got back up.

Hank’s followers were shocked but also very amused at the unexpected budots video.

“Hank doing the budots dance was NOT in my 2024 bingo card,” a supporter said in the comments section.

Hank was also given tips on how to dance budots.

“Just bend your knees, inward & outward. If them knees ain’t hurting it’s wrong,” another fan said.

Budots is Filipino electronic dance music that originated in Davao City before gaining popularity all over the country. With its strong use of bass, percussions, and high-pitched whistles, it is also a popular form of freestyle street dance.

Hank is best known for the YouTube channel and internet show Vlogbrothers, which he hosts with his older brother, author John Green.
