'Hell Teacher Nube' is getting a new anime after 28 years

"Hell Teacher Nube" is getting a new anime 28 years after it last aired on television!

A website and X account were launched to promote the new adaptation, which will premiere in 2025.

"I am thrilled that we are getting a new anime adaptation in this Reiwa era," Sho Makura, the creator of the original manga, said in a statement.

"With the changing times and advancements in digital animation, the setting has been updated, and the students of Class 5-3 have been given a modern update. Please look forward to a completely new look while retaining all the charm of Nube."

Manga illustrator Takeshi Okano was also overjoyed to have a new adaptation for the beloved '90s anime.

"The anime adaptation is finally happening! Banzai! I can finally share the news! This project has been in the works for years, and it was tough keeping it a secret. But now, I can shout it out loud! I'm so happy! Yay! I can't wait!" he said.

A teaser trailer was also released, showing a school corridor, a classroom, and Nube's hand holding a crystal ball showing horror images.

The original manga of "Hell Teacher Nube," or "Jigoku Sensei Nube," ran from 1993 to 1999 on Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It was first adapted into anime in 1996.

The story follows Nube, a psychic teacher hiding a demon hand with powers. He fights evil monsters and spirits to protect his students.
