This is not a drill, '90s kids!

"Ranma 1/2" is getting a new anime and most of the original voice cast are reprising their roles!

Netflix Japan has released a trailer for the upcoming series, reintroducing the beloved gender-switching Ranma to a new generation. An official website and X account has also been launched.

"Ranma 1/2" will premiere in Japan on October 5 and will stream on Netflix after its television airing.

Kappei Yamaguchi, Megumi Hayashibara, and Noriko Hidaka once again voice male Ranma, female Ranma, and Akane Tendo, respectively.

Minami Takayama, Kikuko Inoue, Koichi Yamadera, and Rei Sakuma will also reprise their roles from the original series.

Konosuke Uda will direct the anime and MAPPA is in charge of production.

"Ranma 1/2" is based on a manga of the same name by Rumiko Takahashi, who also created "Inuyasha." It was originally published from 1987 to 1996 and first adapted into anime in 1989.

The story follows a teenage boy named Ranma Saotome, who trains in martial arts. He is cursed to become a girl when cold water is poured over him, but he can turn back into a boy with hot water.
