Does zodiac compatibility matter in relationships? Astrologer answers

Zodiac sign compatibility has long sparked diverse discussions and opinions. Some believe being compatible in the astrological sense plays a significant role in their relationship, while others don't believe in such things as all.

The latest “Share Ko Lang” report delved into astrology and compatibility, with astrologer Resti Santiago debunking some myths on how people view zodiac signs.

According to Resti, it is not wise to leave life-changing decisions based on zodiac signs alone.

"We are not really dictating on people," the astrologer said.

"We are using astrology as a tool for them to analyze what's happening in their lives, what the dynamics are between their personalities," he added.

The best way to use astrology, he said, is to use your zodiac sign as a guide to "come up with a good decision aligned with their personality and their nature."

“Pinapakita lang natin [‘yung patterns], hindi natin dinidiktahan ‘yung tao,” he said.

The zodiac signs are classified into four: Air, Water, Fire, and Earth.

Air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) are the thinking type, while Water signs (Pisces, Scorpio, Cancer) are the emotional type.

Fire signs (Aries, Sagittarius, Leo) are action-oriented, and finally Earth signs (Virgo, Taurus, Capricorn) are goal-oriented.

Resti said that compatibilities in zodiac signs exist, but it "doesn't make or break a relationship."

“Kapag Air signs sinama mo sa Water signs, medyo meron silang pagkakaiba so merong sort of incompatibility with them,” he said.

“Kapag pinagsama mo naman ‘yung Fire and Earth signs, meron silang ma-a-achieve together since the two are action-oriented and goal-oriented,” he added.

However, Resti stressed these are just personality guides. They don't necessarily dictate which signs you can't date, simply because they're supposed to be incompatible with yours.

“Depende kasi ‘yan sa needs ng partner,” Resti added.

“Kapag sinabi nating signs, pattern lang ‘yan, hindi ‘yan tao,” he said.
