YG Entertainment meets with 2NE1, hopes to announce 'good news' soon

2NE1 has met with YG Entertainment founder and executive producer Yang Hyun Suk!

According to a report on Soompi, they had a two hour-long official meeting.

"As this was producer Yang [Hyun Suk] and the 2NE1 members’ first conversation in eight years, although no concrete plans have been made, Yang—who has particular affection for 2NE1—listened to the members’ requests and empathized with them, so we are looking forward to being able to convey good news to the fans soon," the agency was quoted as saying.

YG Entertainment is 2NE1's former agency. The meeting was earlier confirmed amid rumors of a comeback or reunion project.

2NE1 is composed of Sandara Park, CL, Bom, and Minzy.

The group reunited last May for a photoshoot in celebration of their 15th debut anniversary. Their most recent performance was in 2022, when the members got together for CL’s set at Coachella.

The group disbanded in 2016 and left YG Entertainment, but has had several mini reunions through the years.

They are behind the hits “I Am The Best,” “I Don’t Care,” and “FIRE,” among many others. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
