Netflix's 'One Piece' live action series finds its Smoker and Tashigi
Netflix's "One Piece" live action series has found more of the story's well-loved and recurring characters, including Captain Smoker of the Marines, and his officer Tashigi.
According to the latest cast announcement, "Monarch" actor Callum Kerr will play Smoker, and "Fear Street" actress Julia Rehwald will play Tashigi.
The show's upcoming second season will also star Rob Colletti as Wapol and Ty Keogh as Dalton.
Earlier, Netflix announced some of the Baroque Works agents: David Dastmalchian will be Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn will be Miss Valentine, Camrus Johnson will be Mr. 5, and, Daniel Lasker will be Mr. 9.
Given the key players being introduced, fans are anticipating that "One Piece" Season 2 will cover the Alabasta Arc. The show previously hinted at adapting the Little Garden Arc.
What's confirmed is that the upcoming season will introduce at least one more crew member — Chopper, everyone's favorite doctor.
Netflix's "One Piece" is a live action adaptation of the popular manga by Eiichiro Oda, which has been running since 1997. The author has been hands on in his involvement of the show, and personally participates in the casting.
The story follows Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) as he goes on a journey to find the treasure called the One Piece and become King of the Pirates.
Netflix released its live action adaptation in August last year, and it became a huge global hit.
