Stell thankful for SB19's encouragement in starting solo career
Stell is all sorts of grateful for his fellow SB19 members’ support and encouragement as he starts his solo career.
During the launch of his debut solo single “Room,” Stell admitted that he did not feel ready to release solo work, but the push from his bandmates truly helped.
When he was called to be a judge on “The Voice Generations,” Stell said he felt nervous.
“Sabi ko, ‘Sure ba kayo na magiging coach ako?’” he said.
“Parang hindi ko ata kaya by Jessa Zaragoza,” Stell added with laugh. “Sabi ko, ‘Parang hindi yata para sa ‘kin ‘tong project na ‘to.’”
The singer then recalled the SB19 members telling him, “Nako, Stell, ‘pag pinalampas mo pa ‘yan, hindi ko na alam gagawin ko sa ‘yo.”
With this encouragement, Stell decided to trust in himself more, take on the opportunity, and later on release solo music.
“From the start, napaka supportive talaga nila,” Stell said. “Like ito nga lang eh, sa ‘Room’ nga lang eh, si Pablo 'yung nagsulat, katulong niya ‘yung kapatid niyang si Josue mag-produce. Si Justin ‘yung nag-direct [ng music video].”
During the process of writing, Pablo told Stell, “Stell, grabe. Ngayon ko nalang ulit pinakinggan ‘yung kanta. Ang solid pala talaga nung gawa.”
When the band heard the song for the first time, they couldn’t get enough of the track because of its unique and energetic sound.
And even right before releasing the music video, members Josh and Ken were present and giving their input during editing.
“Nararamdaman ko ‘yung 100-percent support nila. Thank you guys, I love you so much,” Stell said with a smile.
Stell released his debut solo single “Room” on June 14 along with a theatrical music video.
He is set to release his debut EP with all original songs this August, and is all set to go on a nationwide tour.
Stell and his fellow “The Voice Generations” judge Julie Anne San Jose will be holding a two-night concert in July.
He will also be a judge on “The Voice Kids” on GMA-7. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
