La Mesa Ecopark to reopen on June 29
Metro Manila is gaining another, much-needed green open space as La Mesa Ecopark in Quezon City reopens to public this month!
In a social media post, the Ecopark said park goers can visit the public park starting June 29 as it “begins a renewed journey as an environment hub to experience biodiversity in the city.”
Other details such as the park's activities and amenities have yet to be announced.
The La Mesa Ecopark is a 33 hectares public park located at the La Mesa Watershed Reservation and near the La Mesa Dam.
Before its closure, the park offered activities like hiking, mountain-biking, horseback riding, rappelling, zip-lining, fishing, and paddle-boating in the lagoon. It also has an "Ecotrail" and a vivarium, specifically an orchidarium.
It temporarily closed in February 2024 to give way to management changes. As it reopens to the public, the park will be now under the stewardship of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System.
We're excited to visit La Mesa Ecopark and see how it's improved after months of closure. Surely, Mother Nature has benefitted from the breather.
