Sophia, the Filipina member of idol group KATSEYE, dances to BINI's 'Pantropiko'
Sophia of KATSEYE busted out her idol moves to BINI’s “Pantropiko!”
The Filipina idol could be seen dancing to the top hit in an Instagram video on her group's account. KATSEYE’s fans, or EYEKONS, couldn’t get enough of how stunning Sophia looked and how talented she was, even calling her BINI Sophia.
“EYEKONS asked, I answered,” Sophia said in the caption.
Sophia Laforteza was the only Filipina who competed in HYBE and Geffen Records’ talent search, “The Debut: Dream Academy.” She had successfully earned her spot in the brand new girl group, KATSEYE, who will make their official debut this year.
Following this, she told her supporters, ““Thank you for helping me make my dream come true.”
Joining Sophia in KATSEYE are her fellow new idols, Daniela, Lara, and Megan from the USA, Manon from Switzerland, and Yoonchae from South Korea.
In “The Debut: Dream Academy,” the contestants took part in the K-Pop idol training system before debuting as a global girl group. Twenty aspiring idols competed, selected from 120,000 applicants from all across the world.
HYBE is the agency that manages global artists like BTS, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, NewJeans, and many more.
Meanwhile, BINI has been making waves with their music and has three upcoming sold-out shows at the New Frontier Theater from June 28 to 30. Aside from “Pantropiko,” their most popular songs include “Salamin, Salamin,” “Pantropiko,” “Na Na Na,” “Lagi,” “Karera,” and “Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi.”
They are set to perform a free concert at the Quirino Grandstand to cap off Independence Day, and at the Love Laban Pride Festival on June 22 at the Quezon City Memorial Circle.
BINI is set to release a new single, “Cherry On Top,” very soon. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
