Bretman Rock gears up for podcast launch, recites 'Panatang Makabayan' for mic test
Bretman Rock, the Filipino icon that you are!
On Instagram Stories, Bretman shared his preparations for the upcoming launch of his podcast, Da Baddest Radio.
In the video, the Hawaii-based Filipino-American creator could be seen sitting on the floor with his laptop, headphones on, and a professional mic.
"Hello, hello, testing one, two, three, yeah," he said on the mic.
After making sure that the mic was working, he proceeded to recite the first three lines of "Panatang Makabayan," albeit the last line was wrong.
“Panatang Makabayan, iniibig ko ang Pilipinas, ito ang aking lupang sinilangan, yeah,” he said.
Regardless, Bretman sure knows how to pay homage to his roots, just in time for the Philippines' 126th Independence Day on June 12.
Bretman first announced the creation of his podcast last week, coinciding with the hard launch of his new man, Justice Fester, on social media. The social media icon promised to tell how he met his boyfriend in the first few episodes of his upcoming podcast channel.
Justice was the first one to post about Bretman on TikTok last month, which sparked dating rumors between the two.
In March, Bretman was honored by the Hawaii House of Representatives for his work on bringing positive attention to Hawaii and Filipino-Americans.
Bretman celebrated his eighth year in social media last January. He previously honored his past self and said he is "proud of that little brown boy" and that his success "is all because of a little Filipino bakla."
