Kitchie Nadal performs ‘Bulong’ on ‘It’s Showtime,’ teases day 2 of concert

Kitchie Nadal is back in the Philippines!

The OPM rock icon graced “It’s Showtime” on Tuesday and opened the noontime show with a lively performance of her hit song, “Bulong."

Kitchie said she is grateful that her songs remain favorites among Filipinos today.

“Syempre, na-ta-touch ako kasi ‘yun din ‘yung nakaka-encourage sa ‘kin tumugtog pa rin after 20 years. Twenty years na yung album,” she said.

When host Teddy Corpuz said that Anne Curtis’ favorites to perform at the karaoke are Kitchie’s songs, the singer-songwriter said, “Sige, one time, mag-jam tayo.” Anne couldn’t help but shriek in excitement.

Karylle also looked back on when she interviewed Kitchie during the early days of their careers, and how she looked up to the rockstar because she wrote her own songs.

“Sabi ko, ‘you can write pala your own music.’ Eh hindi ko maintindihan ‘yun nung mga time na ‘yun kasi sila DJ MOD gumagawa ng kanta ko. So talagang ang laki ng epekto mo sa buhay ko,” Karylle told Kitchie before they shared a hug.

Kitchie is back in the Philippines for Same Ground: Kitchie Nadal’s 20th Anniversary Concert happening on June 2, Sunday, at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City.

Tickets are already sold out, so Kitchie made sure to thank the fans and the crew behind the show.

“Malay niyo, magkaroon tayo ng day 2,” Kitchie said with a smile.

Kitchie will be joined by Barbie Almalbis, Aia de Leon, Lougee Basabas, Hannah Romawac, Acel Bisa, and Monty Macalino of Mayonnaise.

Kitchie is currently based in Spain with her husband Carlos Lopez and their sons Keon and Iago.
