Pet Shih Tzu joins ‘Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas’ trend

A fur baby ate and left no crumbs with its take on the “Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas” trend.

A Balitanghali report on Wednesday featured Panda Pandesal, a three-year-old Shih Tzu from Imus, Cavite, who took TikTok by storm for donning Filipino traditional costumes for the trend.

In the video, the pet dog can be seen wearing adorable outfits like a barong, a baro with a floral bandana, a red scarf, an Ifugao-inspired headdress, and more, while Angeline Quinto’s tourism song played in the background.

According to fur mom Razel via the report, the video took them four hours to shoot. Panda is also used to such shoots and knows how to project on camera.

The “Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas” trend is the newest challenge that has gone viral on TikTok. It is the Filipino version of the Asoka makeup challenge, which showcases the rich and colorful Indian culture.

Several Filipino celebrities have joined in on the trends, including Miss Universe Philippines 2024 bet Ahtisa Manalo, Vice Ganda and Julie Anne San Jose.
