K-dramas of Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Ji Won to watch if you are missing BaekHong from 'Queen of Tears'
Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won made everyone fall for their charms with their performances in record-breaking K-drama "Queen of Tears."
The pair played a married couple on the brink of divorce: Baek Hyun Woo and Hong Hae In, who rekindle their love for each other after facing many obstacles together.

1. Dream High
The 2011 musical drama "Dream High" was the launchpad of some of the most popular Korean stars today, including Kim Soo Hyun.
The series follows the life of students at a prestigious performing arts high school, who are striving to achieve their dreams of becoming successful singers, dancers, and actors.
Before he became a household name in Korea, Soo Hyun first played the role of the music prodigy Song Sam Dong in the hit musical. He showcased not only his acting skills but also his impressive singing abilities in the role.
His breakthrough performance in the series earned him the Best New Actor award at the 2011 Korean Awards.

2. My Love From The Star
"My Love From The Star" is a 2013 romantic fantasy Korean drama that tells the story of an alien named Do Min Joon (Soo Hyun), who has been stranded on Earth for over 400 years, and a top Hallyu star named Cheon Song Yi (Jun Ji Hyun).
The series has become one of Soo Hyun's most popular K-dramas. It received several nominations and accolades for the lead stars including the Most Popular Actor for Television award for Soo Hyun at the prestigious Baeksang Awards in 2014.
In 2016, GMA Network made a remake of the well-loved Korean drama starring Gil Cuerva and Jennylyn Mercado.

3. It's Okay Not To Be Okay
Before his role as Baek Hyun Woo in "Queen of Tears," Kim Soo Hyun previously played the role of Moon Gang Tae, a community health worker at a psychiatric ward in the 2020 series "It's Okay Not To Be Okay."
The series follows Ko Moon Young (Seo Ye Ji), an antisocial children's book writer who moves to her hometown to pursue her love interest Moon Gang Tae, a psych ward caretaker, who has dedicated his life to taking care of his autistic older brother Moon Sang-tae.
His role in the series made him the one of the highest paid actors in South Korea in 2020 and has earned him the Grand Prize in the Asia Artist Award in the same year.

4. The Heirs
Before playing the chaebol role of Hong Hae In in "Queen of Tears," Ji Won played her first rich girl role as Rachel Yoo in "The Heirs" in 2013.
"The Heirs" follows a group of wealthy and privileged high school students as they are about to take over their families' business empires, overcoming difficulties and growing every step of the way.
In the series, she was the rich, chic and haughty heiress of clothing company RS International who happens to be Kim Tan's (Lee Min Ho) fiancée.

5. Descendants of the Sun
"Descendants of the Sun" is a K-drama aired in 2016 that tells the story of young doctors and soldiers who overcame hardships and built their relationships in the war torn country of Uruk.
In the series, Ji Won played the supporting character of Yoon Myeong Ju, a strong-willed and determined army surgeon in the South Korean army.
In 2020, GMA Network made a Philippine adaptation of the K-drama with Jasmine Curtis-Smith playing the role of Myeong Ju.

6. Fight For My Way
Released in 2017, "Fight for My Way" is Ji Won's first big role in television.
In the series, she played the character of Choi Ae Ra, a strong and sassy girl who dreams of becoming an announcer. She is also the love interest of Park Seo Joon's character Ko Dong Man.
Her portrayal of Ae Ra's character earned her an Excellence Award for Actress in a Miniseries in 2017.
