Ben&Ben to release new single 'COMETS' on May 10
Ben&Ben is all set to come out with a brand new single.
Titled “COMETS,” the song tackles the suddenness of losing love. It was written by vocalists Paolo and Miguel Benjamin and is the nine-piece band’s first single of 2024.
“’COMETS’ is a song that we’ve had and performed a few times since 2021 but haven’t officially released yet, it’s been shrouded in quite a bit of mystery and intrigue,” Ben&Ben said in a statement.
“COMETS” also marks the first time that Ben&Ben co-produced a song with acclaimed producer Indonesian musician Petra Sihombing, whose work the band has gotten to know and love in such a short time.
“He flew in to help us bring the song to the next level, with his own additions in both the arrangement and post-production of the track,” the group said. “The band probably had about 90% of the song down, but it was Petra’s very weighty 10% that really helped make the song what it is now.”
“COMETS” will be released on all digital music platforms worldwide this Friday, May 10. Fans can now pre-save the song.
In 2023, Ben&Ben released the singles “Could be Something,” “Courage,” and “Autumn.” That year, the folk-pop band was the Philippines' no. 1 streamed OPM artist on Spotify.
More of Ben&Ben’s recent achievements include performing with Ed Sheeran and having their songs featured in the musical adaptation of the classic film “One More Chance.”
The band’s “Sa Susunod na Habang Buhay” was the theme song for “Rewind” starring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
