Ahtisa Manalo joins the Asoka makeup trend featuring her national costume
Ahtisa Manalo hopped on the viral Asoka makeup trend and boy, did she do it flawlessly!
On Instagram, the 26-year-old beauty queen did the makeup transformation using Angeline Quinto’s “Piliin Mo ang Pilipinas” as the background music.
As she did her make-up, Ahtisa also unveiled her national costume called “Whispers of Tayabak” for the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
“Step into a realm of botanical wonder of Quezon Province’s costume, inspired by the mesmerizing Jade Vine, locally known as Tayabak, a rare and captivating treasure endemic to the lush landscapes of Mt. Banahaw,” she began in the caption.
“This enchanting attire embodies the unique beauty and essence of a vine that not only dazzles with its surreal turquoise blossoms but also offers edible delights, with flowers shaped like an exotic bird’s beak,” Ahtisa added.
The Quezon native also said that the Whispers of Tayabak, “is a vibrant celebration of nature’s artistry.”
Her national costume featured a rich tapestry of greens and blues, intricately hand-embroidered to mimic the vine’s entwined growth, with subtle hints of silver to reflect the dew-kissed foliage at dawn.
According to Ahtisa, her national costume “is a tribute to the enchanting biodiversity of Quezon Province.”
“Whispers of Tayabak is more than a costume; it is a tribute to the enchanting biodiversity of Quezon Province, a wearable piece of art that brings the story of the Jade Vine to vivid life, celebrating its endemic origin and the ethereal beauty it lends to the natural world,” she shared.
Ahtisa is returning to pageantry after taking a five-year break. She previously represented the Philippines at Miss International 2018, where she was named 1st runner-up.
She is representing her hometown, Quezon Province in the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Pageant. The coronation event will be on May 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
