Taylor Swift reveals second part of album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ titled ‘The Anthology’
It’s not a Taylor Swift album release day without a giant surprise.
Two hours after releasing "The Tortured Poets Department," the singer surprises fans with its second part, “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.”
On Instagram, Taylor announced the “2am surprise."
"The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album,” Taylor said on Instagram.
“I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology,” she added. “And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours.”
The second part contains 15 songs, including “The Black Dog,” “imgonnagetyouback,” “The Albatross,” “How Did It End?” "So High School," "I Hate It Here," and "thanK you aiMee" making the whole two-part "The Tortured Souls Department" a 31-song bonanza.
According to Taylor Swift, “The Tortured Poets Department” is “an anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure.”
The album’s first single is “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone with a music video coming out at 8 p.m. ET, or 8 a.m. on April 20 in the Philippines.
Taylor has released a black and white teaser for “Fortnight,” with her and Post Malone on typewriters and dressed in gothic attire.
Taylor first revealed “The Tortured Poets Department” in February when she won her 13th Grammy Award. Later that month, she announced the bonus track, “The Bolter.”
Taylor recently finished the Asian leg of The Eras Tour, which is in support of her 2022 album, “Midnights.” She is set to start the European tour in May.
Aside from “Midnights,” the popstar dropped the Taylor’s Version of her album “1989” in October 2023.
