Taylor Swift’s new album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ just dropped!

Taylor Swift dropped her new album and everybody is seated for it.

Composed of 16 tracks, “The Tortured Poets Department” is what Taylor calls “an anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure.”

Citing “the author,” Taylor said one period of their life is now over and “the chapter closed and boarded up.”

“There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted,” the artist said.

“This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it,” Taylor added.

“And then all that’s left behind is the tortured poetry.”

#TSTTPD and #THETORTUREDPOETSDEPARTMENT were among the trending topics on X when the album dropped.

The album’s first single is “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone.

“I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever. I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight,” Taylor said in another Instagram post.

Its music video will also be coming out at 8 p.m. ET, or 8 a.m. on April 20 in the Philippines.

Taylor has released a black and white teaser for “Fortnight,” with her and Post Malone on typewriters and dressed in gothic attire.

Taylor first revealed “The Tortured Poets Department” in February when she won her 13th Grammy Award. Later that month, she announced the album’s new edition with a bonus track titled “The Bolter.”

The American Superstar recently finished the Asian leg of The Eras Tour.

She is set to start the European tour in May.

Aside from “Midnights,” the popstar dropped the Taylor’s Version of her album “1989” in October 2023.
