10 epic moments from the Lola Amour album concert that will go down in OPM history

Umiinit!

It was sunny in Manila when Lola Amour held their highly anticipated concert at the Circuit Makati Event Grounds, where Apos from all over the Philippines came out to celebrate their favorites' debut album.

It was a gathering of music lovers who came together to appreciate what the new generation of OPM has to offer, and there were tons of epic moments that happened.

Here are 10 moments from the Lola Amour album concert that people will not stop talking about:

1. Fan zones

Gates opened at 4 p.m., but before the show started promptly at six, Apos had lots of activities to try out.

There was a merch booth called Tindahan ni Lola Amour, with items like "Raining in Manila" umbrellas, "Umiinit" fans, "Pwede Bags," and band photocards. Fans also had fun at the photo wall where they could pose with a cut-out of the band. High energy and dance skills were also showed off at the Umiinit na Dance Challenge Booth.

Fans were also treated to free pizza and whiskey. Talk about starting the show on the right note!

2. Any Name's Okay and Cup of Joe brought the house down!

The concert started with high energies and good vibes right off the bat! Two OPM bands, who are also friends of Lola Amour, started the show.

Any Name's Okay played first, playing their pop hits like "Vivid" and "Clouds."

The next opening act was Cup of Joe, whose unique stage presence and performance levels got everybody dancing and headbanging to "Mananatili," "Estranghero," and "Tingin."

3. 'We are Lola Amour!'

And for the much-awaited part of the night—getting to see Lola Amour in their full glory.

An animated video played in the background while the members slowly came in one by one, playing their instruments. As they built everybody's energy, they started playing the iconic live intro to "Fallen," before yelling out, "We are Lola Amour!"

For the first act—and right after fans were showered with confetti—Lola Amour played a series of old and new hits. Right after "Fallen," they went straight into the disco-inspired track "Umiinit."

This was soon followed by a new rendition of "Maybe Maybe," with more horns and a faster beat, and then a new song from the album "This Ain't Love."

Lola Amour flexed their strong skills in playing instruments, with saxophonist Jeff Abueg and lead guitarist Zoe Gonzales taking things slow in their solos right before "Dahan Dahan."

The slow songs continued with a song about mental health, "Lost for Words." This theme continues when the band performed "Part II: Bliss," a song vocalist Pio Dumayas wrote in 2018 to honor the band's late friend from high school, Gelo, who struggled with depression. The band performed the moving track in front of Gelo's family and was backed by a string quartet.

After a 10-minute intermission and an outfit change, the second act starts with "Namimiss Ko Na." Like in "Pwede Ba," the members shared mics and sang the bridge together. Each member performed a solo, gave it their all, and definitely showed their strengths.

4. It's Dante Gulapa and PLAYERTWO!

There was a fair share of surprises that night!

When the band members came in before their first song, a hooded man entered with them. When he took off his jacket—he was none other than Dante Gulapa! The viral sensation danced to the "Fallen" intro.

Later on, Lola Amour also brought out hip-hop trio PLAYERTWO, who performed the rap verses on "Sundan Mo Ko" and they all sang and danced together on stage.

5. Ladies and gentlemen, Raymond King!

It was bassist Raymond King's final gig with Lola Amour before he leaves the band.

Right from the start, he performed bass solos on center stage and sang his backing vocals with so much passion.

Throughout the night, fans would chant, "We will miss you, Raymond" and "Thank you, Raymond." Some even wore headbands with his face on top and carried around a photo of him.

In his own bubbly way, Raymond teased fans.

While Pio was saying, "The past five years, Raymond has been writing with us for this album and after this—"

Raymond then cut in, "Paalam!"

The band and the crowd poked fun at him with chants of "Iiyak na 'yan!"

6. It's theater, darling

Lola Amour sure knows how to give their audience a good time.

Theatrics were a common theme throughout the night, what with the background videos and Dante Gulapa appearance.

But Lola Amour also played an Alamat ng Cowboy video, narrated by and starring Pio. While it was playing, the vocalist also pulled a confetti popper, played with coconut shells on stage to mimic the sound of a horse's footsteps, and ran around onstage with a toy horse.

7. Meet Joxx, Martin, and Manu

Some special people in Lola Amour's career joined them for the concert.

Joxx Perez, the band's former saxophonist who left in 2022, returned for the night.

Pio also introduced his little brother Manu Dumayas who was on trumpet. Manu will be replacing Raymond on bass.

Trumpet sessionist Tim Cruz was also part of the concert.

Before the show ended, Pio said the band ordered several gifts for Raymond, but only one made it in time for the concert and that it was straight from Korea.

Martin Kim, the band's original keyboardist and the one who composed the chords of "Pwede Ba," surprised the band!

Tons of hugs are exchanged. Martin then performed the Korean version of "Pwede Ba" on acoustic guitar while the rest of the band swayed in the background.

8. The fans showed so much love

Nothing compares to the love Filipino fans show their favorite artists. The Apos flaunted their merch and held up signs for the band, including ones that say "You are my safe space."

When Lola Amour asks the crowd to dance and put their hands up, they do so right away. When Pio asks the crowd to sing with him in "Maybe Maybe," only their voices are heard. He even stops singing to let all the members and the fans sing.

The left and right sides of the stage also take turns singing the parts in "This Ain't Love."

And despite the slow and emotional songs, the crowd remains so alive just basking in Lola Amour. They didn't even have to get told to put their flashlights up for "I'll Give My Heart."

9. 'I'm sure you guys know what the last song is, 'wag na tayo maglokohan'

"I'm sure you guys know what the last song is, 'wag na tayo maglokohan," Pio told the crowd before the epic show's equally epic finale.

And so although it was a very sunny day, Lola Amour literally made it rain in Manila!

Fans sang along to every word while the band gave a final all-out performance of their megahit, "Raining in Manila."

Martin stayed for backup vocals, whereas Jeff teased the crowd and didn't play his sax solo right away in the song's bridge.

Before the song ended, a machine made it rain on stage!

To say goodbye, there was one last "We are Lola Amour!"

Fans got rained on by confetti and chanted, "Thank you, Ray!" He then waved to fans one last time.

10. Fans were treated to an after-party

Lola Amour sure knows how to throw a party!

VIP ticketholders were treated to an after-party featuring a performance by PLAYERTWO. The hip-hop trio even surprised everybody when they brought out FELIP, or SB19's Ken, whom they collaborated with on the songs "Pagdali" and "FLYYY."

This was followed by a set from DJ Marco Molina.
