The 'Firefly' storybook is now up for sale

A storybook based on the award-winning film “Firefly” is now available for sale.

According to an announcement by GMA Public Affairs on Facebook, the book is available on the GMA Store, ShopeeMall, and Lazada for P399.

The book was written by Augie Rivera, a renowned kids' storybook writer and scriptwriter. The illustrations are by Aldy Aguirre, an award-winning artist who works with watercolor and gouache.

“Firefly” is produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs. The tear-jerking magical realism film follows TonTon (Euwenn Mikaell Aleta), who searches for the mythical island described in his mother's (Alessandra De Rossi) stories. The adult TonTon (Dingdong Dantes) ends up being a storybook writer who created a book based on the stories.

The film won the Metro Manila Film Festival Best Picture award and Euwenn was named Best Child Actor.

At the Manila International Film Festival held in California in February, the film bagged top awards such as Best Supporting Actress for Alessandra, Best Director for Zig Dulay, and Best Screenplay for GMA Public Affairs Assistant Vice President Angeli Atienza.

“Firefly” will start streaming on Prime Video on April 30.
