UDD returns with new electronic single 'Run Deep'
UDD’s new chapter is here!
The band’s comeback single “Run Deep” is totally different from their previous rock work. The five-minute song is an electronic, techno track with lyrics about a one-sided love.
UDD is now a trio with Carlos Tañada on vocals and lead guitars, Ean Mayor on drums and samplers, and Paul Yap on bass and synthesizers.
They are the band behind some of OPM’s classic hits like “Oo,” “Tadhana,” and “Unti-Unti.”
UDD’s former vocalist and keyboardist is Armi Millare, who left the band in 2021. Before her departure, the band released the music video for “Tambalan” and performed "Paagi," the ending song for "Trese" on Netflix.
In an exclusive interview with GMA News Online, Armi called life after UDD "an uphill climb," but that change was needed.
"I wanted the life I had in that setup since I was really young," she said. "I've been such a dreamer my whole life, I forgot the reality that we all change and that more than half of who we are will need to evolve or our spirit dies."
Armi has released the solo singles “Roots” and “Whatever,” and is set to release her debut solo album “South Node” this year. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
