Us The Duo reveal they are ‘no longer married’
Us The Duo, or the couple Carissa and Michael Alvarado, just revealed they had been separated for a while.
On social media, the acoustic duo announced the personal news, saying “The two of us are no longer married, but we still have so much love for each other, and most importantly, for our daughter Xyla."
According to their post, Carissa and Michael have "been living on our own separate journeys for quite some time now."
Admitting their lives have changed — "life looks a little bit different than before," they said — Us The Duo said they they "absolutely love" co-parenting their daughter, who has adjusted to their new set-up "and is still her happy and joyful self!”
In their announcement, the Us the Duo said their separation hasn't affected their professional lives, saying they will continue to release new music together.
In fact, they will be releasing new singles, remixes of their past songs, acoustic Christmas music, and their viral Top Hits Medleys are being put on streaming platforms.
They added their next release will be “coming VERY SOON.”
Us The Duo looked back on their journeys going viral in 2012, saying “We know our music means so much to you all, as it does to us. Many of you have walked down the aisle to our music… some of you even have a tattoo of Us The Duo (you’re amazing)!”
“The message, the feelings and the love in our past music will always be our truth for that time in our lives and we hope you’ll continue to cherish the music and your memories attached to it for eternity,” the duo added.
Us The Duo also told their fans to follow their personal social media accounts for updates on their careers and co-parenting journey.
“Thank you for all your support over the past 12 years. We love you all so much,” they said.
Us The Duo rose to fame for their acoustic covers of popular songs on Vine back in 2012. They last visited Manila in 2015.
They covered Ben&Ben’s “Doors” in 2021. Us The Duo’s original songs include “Better Together” and “No Matter Where You Are.”
