Marina Summers enters Top 4 of 'RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World'
Marina Summers made it to the Top 4 of “RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World!”
In this week’s episode, Marina wore traditional Yakan wedding ceremony attire for the runway category "Take Me Up the Aisle.”
Marina posted more snaps of her look on her Instagram account, writing, “Not all weddings are white.”
“I feel honored and blessed to have been able to share this traditional Yakan wedding ceremony attire (one of the Philippines’ many ethnic groups) on the world’s stage of @dragraceukbbc. From Luzon, to Visayas and now Mindanao. I meant it when I say I wanted to represent the entire country,” she added.
The attire, made with fabric from Yakan textile makers, was brought to life by Zamboanga-based designer Erich Miñoza.
“That is absolutely beautiful,” RuPaul said, commenting on Marina’s look.
Marina is the only Asian representative in this show’s season. She is also the first drag queen to represent the Philippines in an international edition of the Emmy Award-winning original series.
She made an unforgettable entrance on the show with a stunning Filipiniana look and even made netizens LOL after she used Durabox as her luggage.
In a previous episode, she amazed the judges with her performance of “AMAFILIPINA,” her version of Maymay Entrata’s “Amakabogera.”
So far, Marina has received three RuPeter badges. This includes the Rusical episode, where she made “herstory” by getting RuPaul to clap and say “wow” with her runway performance, which Mama Ru rarely does in the show.
The winner of “Drag Race UK vs. The World” will win 50,000 pounds.
