Kamikazee's Jay joins Parokya ni Edgar on stage to perform 'Halaga'

Two OPM legends shared the stage at a recent gig!

Parokya ni Edgar was joined by Jay Contreras of Kamikazee to perform Parokya’s classic hit “Halaga” in 12 Monkeys.

Parokya vocalist Chito Miranda could not help but get sentimental in his Instagram caption.

“Ganito talaga pakiramdam ko whenever I play with my bandmates...nothing but pure fun, love, and happiness,” he said.

But then he teased Jay anew.

“Kaso nga lang biglang umepal si Jay ng Call Me Crazy...ok na sana eh,” Chito said. “Joke lang...love you, Jay."

“Sobrang saya lang talaga mag-banda,” he added.

Parokya ni Edgar and Kamikazee are among the bands to play at the Clark Aurora Music Festival at Clark Global City in Pampanga on April 6 and 7.

The two bands previously collaborated on the songs “The Ordertaker” and a cover of Apo Hiking Society’s “American Junk.”

Parokya ni Edgar, one of the Philippines’ most iconic bands, is composed of Chito, Gab Chee Kee, Buwi Meneses, Darius Semaña, Dindin Moreno, and Vinci Montaner.

A jukebox musical featuring the band’s songs, titled, “Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical” opens on April 26 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City.

The show is named after Parokya’s debut album released in 1997. It is home to the OPM classics “Harana,” “Silvertoes,” “Sayang,” and “Please Don’t Touch My Birdie.” It will have an all-female lead cast of Kyle Napuli, Marynor Madamesila, Tex de Leon, and Natasha Cabrera.
