'Bar Boys' musical to be staged in May

The “Bar Boys” are getting ready to take the stage!

The 2017 comedy-drama film about a group of aspiring lawyers is getting turned into a stage musical.

This was announced on the “Bar Boys” Facebook page with a Reel. The 30-second teaser showed a cup of coffee and several legal books. Actress Sheila Francisco then appears and strictly says, “Dear future lawyers.”

“Bar Boys” will be staged in May 2024 by Barefoot Theater Collaborative, the same creators behind “Mula Sa Buwan.” It was first announced in April 2023.

Cast and ticket details have yet to be revealed.

“Bar Boys” follows four young men as they navigate law school, families, relationships, and studying ahead of the bar exam. It starred Rocco Nacino, Carlo Aquino, Enzo Pineda, and Kean Cipriano, directed by Kip Oebanda. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
