'Firefly' to be screened at FDCP Cinematheque Theaters


You will now have another chance to watch the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Best Picture "Firefly" this February!

The FDCP Cinematheque Centre Manila announced that MMFF entries "Firefly," "When I Met You in Tokyo," and "Family of Two" will be screened at Cinematheque theaters in Manila, Iloilo, Davao, Negros and Nabunturan.

Tickets are priced at P150 and can be availed in their ticketing website. The screening schedule runs from February 7 to 17.

"Firefly" was directed by Zig Dulay and starred by Alessandra De Rossi and Euwenn Mikaell. It is a magical realism film that follows TonTon (Euwenn Mikaell), who searches for the mythical island described in his mother's stories.

Aside from bagging the Best Picture Award at the 2023 MMFF, "Firefly" also won several top awards at the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) in Hollywood, California, including Best Picture and Best Screenplay.

Alessandra won Best Supporting Actress at the MIFF for her performance in the film, while Euwenn won Best Child Performer at the MMFF. Direk Zig was hailed as the MIFF Best Director.

"When I Met You in Tokyo" stars Christopher De Leon and Vilma Santos, who won Best Actress at the MIFF and the MMFF.

"Family of Two," meanwhile, stars Alden Richards and Sharon Cuneta.
