Crunchyroll PH: Everything you need to know about anime fans' go-to streaming site

Looking for your anime fix? Crunchyroll is the go-to for many around the world, but it's a relatively new platform in the Philippines.

In the year 2024, is it worth a shot? Here's everything you need to know about Crunchyroll Philippines.

1. Available titles

Crunchyroll prides itself in being the "largest anime library," but the availability of titles vary per region.

In the Philippines, users are able to access a large collection of anime shows, including the likes of "Jujutsu Kaisen," "One Piece," "Spy x Family," "Attack on Titan," "My Hero Academia," "Chainsaw Man," and more.

There are also classics such as "Code Geass" and "Psycho Pass"—the "Dragon Ball" movies are here, too!

2. Simulcasts

Crunchyroll premium users can also access simulcasts for certain anime titles, meaning episodes are available immediately after they air in Japan.

Titles include "One Piece," "Solo Leveling," "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," "Classroom of the Elite," "Blue Exorcist," and many more.

In January, Crunchyroll began rolling out episodes for "Fluffy Paradise," "The Demon Prince of Momochi House," "The Witch and the Beast," "BUCCHIGIRI?!" and more.

3. Music and games

On top of the anime shows, Crunchyroll also offers anime music, concert videos, and games!

There's a music library on the app, and a whole library of games called the Game Vault.

These are only available for premium members.

3. Sub and dub

Crunchyroll's titles all stream with both subtitles and English dub.

In fact, the platform offers anime in over 10 languages globally, including Spanish (Latin America and Spain), Portuguese, French, Russian, German, Arabic, Italian, and, of course, Japanese.

4. Subscriptions

To become a member of Crunchyroll, you have three subscription options: Fan (P79/month), Mega Fan (P99/month), and Annual Mega Fan (P999/year).

The lowest tier allows an ad-free experience, access to simulcasts, and unlimited access to the library. It allows streaming on one device.

The Mega Fan subscription adds access to the Game Vault, and makes offline viewing available. This membership allows streaming on up to four devices.

Lastly, the Annual Mega Fan subscription offers a 16% discount on your monthly plan, and you're billed once every 12 months.

5. Where can you stream?

The Crunchyroll app is available on over 15 platforms, including all gaming consoles.

That means you can stream on desktop, mobile, and other streaming devices that include iOS, Android, Apple TV, Xbox, Roku, and PS4.
