'Oshi no Ko' live action film, TV show in the works

"Oshi no Ko" has joined the growing list of manga and anime series that are getting adapted into live action.

Amazon and Toei on Wednesday announced that they are teaming up on a live action film and TV show adaptation of the manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari.

According to a report on Anime News Network, Toei will release the film on theaters, while the series will premiere on Prime Video later this year.

The cast has been announced to include Nagisa Sait? as Ruby, Asuka Saito as Ai, Kaito Sakurai as Aqua, Nanoka Hara as Kana Arima, Mizuki Kayashima as Akane Kurokawa, and Ano as Memcho.

"Oshi no Ko" follows Gorou, a gynecologist and idol fan, whose favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. He ends up forging a bond with her.

It was adapted into anime last April, and a second season is set to be released this year.
