Kapuso stars Anthony Rosaldo, Thea Astley, Garrett Bolden to be part of 'Rent' 2024 Musical

9 Works Theatrical has finally announced the full cast of the upcoming staging of hit Broadway musical “Rent” and three Kapuso stars are set to take the stage.

Anthony Rosaldo will play Roger, Thea Astley got the role of Mimi, Garrett Bolden is set to perform as Tom Collins.

Also in the cast are Ian Pangilinan and Reb Atadero alternating as Mark, Molly Langley alternating as Mimi, Justine Peña and Jasmine Fitzgerald alternating as Maureen, and Adrian Lindayag and Lance Reblando alternating as Angel, among others.

Before landing the role of Roger, Anthony was also seen as young Hector in the hit “Ang Huling El Bimbo” the musical.

Meanwhile, Thea is part of “Queendom” together with Julie Anne San Jose, Rita Daniela, Jessica Villarubin, Mariane Osabel, and Hannah Precillas. Known as the “Kapuso Soul Balladeer,” Garrett isn’t new to the stage as he flew to Guam in August to star in “Beauty and the Beast: The Broadway Musical.”

The Manila staging of “Rent” was announced in September 2023 during the final curtain call of “Tick, Tick…Boom!”

“Rent” debuted on Broadway in 1996. It follows a group of young artists struggling to make ends meet in New York City. The characters go through their own ups and downs with money, family, relationships, and the struggles of living with HIV/AIDS.
