Selena Gomez to return as Alex Russo in 'Wizards of Waverly Place' sequel

Selena Gomez is set to return to the Waverly Place!

According to a report on Deadline, the actress will reprise her role as Alex Russo for the pilot episode of the "Wizards of Waverly Place" sequel.

Co-star David Henrie, meanwhile, will be back as Justin Russo as a series regular.

Both Selena and David are also on board as executive producers.

The "Wizards of Waverly Place" sequel stars new cast members Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, and Mimi Gianopulos.

The show starts after a mysterious event at WizTech, the wizarding school Justin, Alex, and their brother Max attend. Justin left his wizard powers behind and is now leading a normal life with his wife and two sons.

However, a powerful young wizard shows up at his door and needs training. Justin looks back at his past powers for the future of the Wizard World.
