IU changes song title from 'Love Wins' to 'Love Wins All' following backlash

IU has changed her upcoming song title from “Love Wins” to “Love Wins All” following online backlash.

The singer’s agency EDAM Entertainment released a statement regarding the issue.

“We decided to change the title to respect and support everyone who loves in their various ways, and we accept the opinions of those who express concerns that precious messages might be blurred due to the title,” they said.

The management added that the song’s message would be “exactly opposite” to “the word 'hatred.’”

“We deeply hope that the original message of the song is delivered without leaving any scars on anyone, as every love wins all in the world with no hatred,” EDAM said.

They added that promotional activities for the song will be using the new title from now on.

Love Wins All” will be released on January 24. It is IU’s comeback single with an accompanying music video starring V of BTS.

IU is coming to the Philippines for a concert in June as part of the H.E.R. tour.

She released the album “LILAC” and the EP “Pieces" in 2021. She is best known for the songs “Palette (feat. G-DRAGON),” “eight (Prod. & feat. SUGA of BTS),” “BBIBBI,” “LILAC,” “Blueming,” and many more. She was also featured in Agust D’s—SUGA’s alter ego—single “People Pt.2.”

IU is also an actress and is set to star in the upcoming drama, “Thank You for Your Hard Work” alongside Park Bo Gum. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
