Andi Eigenmann looks back on her surfing journey: 'I am happy to learn as my kids do'

Andi Eigenmann looks back on her surfing journey

Andi Eigenmann has impressed netizens with her surfing skills, despite her initial hesitation to try it out.

On Instagram, the Siargao-based vlogger reflected on her surfing journey saying that she had a mindset before that she was “too old for it,” as she was already a “mom of three,” and thought that it didn’t feel right to only be learning something new for the first time.

“It probably would've been impossible to get good this late anyway,” she added.

Andi shared how fortunate she feels to be in a new environment where she no longer fears judgment. Here, she doesn't need to worry about meeting others' expectations or fitting into their standards.

She also gave a huge shoutout to her coach who pushes her to try and to her fiancé surfing champ Philmar Alipayo for “pushing and inspiring people to believe in their capabilities and aim big.”

“I am happy to learn as my kids do,” the 33-year-old mom added.

Three years into her journey, Andi said she is “stoked to be where I am now,” and acknowledged that she still “has a lot to improve on.”

She’s also in the process of “loving the journey,” and “not worrying about how long it would take to get to her destination.”

“I like to set realistic goals that progress as I do,” she added.

Ending her post, she encouraged parents, especially moms like her, to never be too old to learn new hobbies and life lessons, just as kids are never too young to aim for greatness.

Andi moved to Siargao in 2017. Three years later, she got engaged to Philmar. They have two kids: Lilo and Koa. Andi is also mom to Ellie, her daughter with Jake Ejercito.

She previously said that she still lives in gratitude for being able to call the island her home.
