This home in Makati is a 24/7 library where you can read and borrow books for free
While you can easily find things online, nothing still beats flipping through the pages of a book.
Along Balagtas Street in Barangay La Paz, Makati City is “Mang Nanie’s Library,” a public library that’s open 24/7.
Here, you can find textbooks, novels, dictionaries, stacks of encyclopedia, and different reading materials.
According to an episode of "Dapat Alam Mo," owner Nanie Guanlao opened his house to the public in 2000 and he has been receiving book donations to grow his collection ever since.
Aside from welcoming readers of all ages into his home, Mang Nanie regularly gives books to kids and even sends them to provinces around the Philippines like Tawi-Tawi and Palawan.
You can visit Mang Nanie’s Library anytime to read, borrow a book, or even donate some of your old copies.
