A Taylor Swift elective will be offered by DLSU-D
Taylor Swift world domination!
The De La Salle University Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) will start offering a course about the life and artistry of American pop star Taylor Swift.
Offered as an elective under DLSU-D Senior High School Department, the course will dive into the enchanting world of Taylor Swift and explore the musical artistry that has captured hearts worldwide.”
According to the university, the elective titled, “Speak Now: Swifties Unleased,” will serve as a “backstage pass” to the “magic behind melodies.”
It will be part of the second semester elective list and students who wish to take the course can include it in their online enrollment on January 17.
But the Taylor course is just tip of the iceberg. DLSU-D students can also chose other elective topics such as the Nickelodeon cartoon SpongeBob Squarepants, K-pop and K-Drama, biking, and cats.
Previously, the university has offered electives on Star Wars, Harry Potter, and anime, among others.
Earlier, the University of the Philippines (UP) announced it will offer an elective course on Taylor under BA Broadcast Media Arts and Studies. It will be taught in the second semester by Dr. Cherish Aileen Brillon of the College of Mass Communication, who is a certified Swiftie herself.
Courses on the pop star have been offered in several academic institutions such as Stanford University, New York University, and Harvard University.
Taylor is currently making stops around the world for her "The Eras Tour" concert. It is in support of her 2022 album, "Midnights."
In 2024, the "Anti-Hero" singer will visit Asia as part of her tour.
