NIKI gets real about mid-twenties struggles in new single '24'

NIKI got real about being both old and young at the same time in her latest single “24.”

The singer-songwriter sang about paying the bills, being independent, and achieving goals, but also longing for love and contentment. She said it best in the bridge: “I'm somebody's baby, someone else's midnight call. I know more than I ever have and yet nothing at all.”

On Instagram, NIKI said that the song was released ahead of her 25th birthday on January 24.

“[So] so before that particular birthday I thought I’d release a song I wrote in an attempt to synthesize my early twenties, and the many humbling things I have learned up to this point.”

NIKI held her first solo arena show in Manila last September, which fans sold out in minutes. The concert made Filipino Moonchildren dance, cry, and feel hopeful again.

Her latest album “Nicole” dropped in 2022. It features the tracks “Before” and “The Apartment We Won’t Share.”

NIKI also visited Manila in 2022 for the country’s first Head in the Clouds music and arts festival.

More of the singer-songwriter’s top hits include “lowkey,” “Every Summertime,” “I Like U,” and “La La Lost You.”
