Rivermaya all set for reunion concert in February

Rivermaya is all set for their highly anticipated reunion concert in February.

The legendary OPM band said in an “Unang Balita” report that rehearsals are now ongoing, and teased fans that the stage design and performances will make for a massive concert.

Former vocalist and guitarist Rico Blanco said that performing will be like riding a bike as it comes naturally for the group. He added that their songs will be given a new meaning because they are more mature now.

Bamboo Manalac added that this time around, they will be able to give their 100% commitment.

“Years na ‘to pinapagusapan diba, this is not just something that’s been talked about. Until it became a solid idea, and then, ‘yun na,” the former vocalist and solo artist said.

Drummer Mark Escueta, who had stayed with the band since 1994, said that producing and performing music is his true passion. These are also the reasons why bassist Nathan Azarcon returned to Rivermaya.

Mark told fans, “Gusto namin kayo makita ulit, or marami diyan first time pa kami mapapanood and dun kamo excited din.”

Rico added, “Matagal ‘tong ni-re-request sa ‘min, ito na kami ngayon, so enjoy tayo.”

Rivermaya is getting fans excited for the show by posting throwback and rehearsal photos, plus behind-the-scenes clips.

Rivermaya, the reunion, happens on February 17 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Paranaque City. Ticket selling started last November.
