Britney Spears says she will 'never return to the music industry'
Looks like there won't be a new Britney Spears album after all.
On Instagram, the iconic singer debunked rumors that she's releasing music.
"I will never return to the music industry," she wrote. "When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people."
She then revealed that she's a ghostwriter and "enjoys it that way."
"For those of you who have read my book, there’s loads that you don’t know about me … I’ve written over 20 songs for other people the past two years," she said.
"People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that’s far from the truth … have you read the news these days?" she added. "I’m so LOVED and blessed!"
Last year, Britney collaborated with will.i.am. for the song "Mind Your Business." Before that, she also collaborated with Elton John for "Hold Me Closer."
She also recently went through a divorce from Sam Asghari, who she married a year after her controversial 14-year conservatorship was dissolved.
In October, she released her autobiography "The Woman in Me."
