G-Dragon signs with new agency, plans to make 2024 comeback
G-Dragon of BIGBANG is making a comeback in 2024!
The top idol has signed with a new agency, Galaxy Corporation. It was director Jo Sung Hae who announced G-Dragon's upcoming comeback, Soompi reported.
Jo Sung Hae added that both G-Dragon and Galaxy are more than partners, and “will continue to take on challenges that have never been done and could not be done in the world.”
“Moreover, in order to take a path that others have not taken, we will bridge each other’s gap and show not only the side that Kwon Ji Yong [G-Dragon’s real name] has shown so far but also the side that he has not shown before,” he said.
The delayed announcement of G-Dragon’s executive contract is because Galaxy was waiting for YG Entertainment’s formal statement. His exclusive contract with the agency expired in June.
“We also express our sincere gratitude to YG Entertainment. Thanks to YG, the Kwon Ji Yong of today exists," Jo Sung Hae said.
“Galaxy will do our best to continue the path of glory that YG and G-Dragon have walked without forgetting,” he added.
G-Dragon rose to fame as the leader of BIGBANG, which debuted in 2006. He released his first solo album “Heartbreaker” in 2009. His solo hits include “Untitled, 2014,” “CROOKED,” “Without You (feat. ROSE),” and more.
He was recently acquitted of his recent drug charges following his negative tests.
Meanwhile, BIGBANG made their much-awaited comeback in 2022 with “Still Life.” The group is behind the hits “BANG BANG BANG,” “Fantastic Baby,” and “LOSER” among many others. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
