World's only banana catsup museum reopens in Laguna

World's only banana catsup museum reopens in Laguna

Did you know that the world's only banana catsup museum can be found in the Philippines?

Located at the NutriAsia Cabuyao Plant in Light Industry Science Park in Cabuyao, Laguna, the Catsup Museum was introduced in 2017 and became the world’s first and only, aiming to immortalize the story of the well-loved banana catsup.

But during the pandemic and due to quarantine restrictions, NutriAsia put the attraction on hold.

After taking a three-year hiatus, the Catsup Museum is opening its doors again, inviting guests to learn more about the well-loved condiment through the museum’s displays and visuals.

Visitors can drop by the History of Banana Hall exhibit, which features the story of the banana catsup, as well as the Banquet Hall, which displays the different kinds of foods best paired with or eaten with it.

Inside the Maria Orosa Hall, the museum pays tribute to the Filipina pharmaceutical chemist, humanitarian, and war hero credited as the inventor of banana catsup.

Guests can also learn about the process of banana catsup-making through the Manufacturing Hall, which shows the process from harvesting to bottling and labeling. Equipment used by NutriAsia for its brands UFC, Papa, Jufran, and Mafran were also shown in the area.

Interested to visit? Inquiries and reservations may be done through the Catsup Museum’s email: info_thecatsupmuseum[at]themindmuseum.org.
