'House of the Dragon' Season 2 just dropped a teaser and it's fire
The second season of "House of the Dragon" just dropped a teaser, and we're hyped!
In just under 90 seconds, the series showed snippets of epic scenes from the coming war between the Blacks, the faction of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, and the Greens, the faction of King Aegon II.
And of course, there's dragons aplenty—the civil war within House Targaryen became known in Westerosi history as the Dance of Dragons.
In the teaser, we see Queen Rhaenyra riding her dragon Syrax, Baela Targaryen riding Moondancer, and Aemond Targaryen riding Vhagar. Armies are assembling and armies are burned alive.
Needless to say, we're seated!
"House of the Dragon" Season 2 is expected to premiere next year. The first season aired in August 2022 with 10 episodes.
A prequel to "Game of Thrones," the series stars Emma D'Arcy as Rhaenyra, Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon II, Olivia Cooke as Queen Alicent Hightower, Ewan Mitchell as Aemond, and Eve Best as Rhaenys Targaryen.
Season 1 starred Paddy Considine as Viserys, Milly Alcock as young Rhaenyra, and Emily Carey as young Alicent.
Based on George R.R. Martin's book "Fire and Blood," "House of the Dragon" is set 172 years before the events in "Game of Thrones," when the Targaryens are at the height of their power.
