Ben&Ben is the Philippines' no. 1 streamed OPM artist on Spotify for 2023
Ben&Ben has officially been named by Spotify as the Philippines’ no. 1 most streamed OPM artist for 2023.
The nine-piece folk-pop band shared on Instagram that they received a total of 371 million streams, 15 million listeners, and 25 million hours. Their songs were also streamed across 184 countries.
The OPM band penned a letter for their fans, Liwanag, to thank them for all the love and support.
“THANK YOU for bringing us to # 1 this year,” Ben&Ben said.
“This hits deep, because we realized that somehow, we’ve become a constant part of each other’s lives through these songs that connect us," they added. "You brought us here. No words can express the depth of how much we treasure you, Liwanag. Iba kayo magmahal. LABYU!”
Ben&Ben assured Liwanag that they will continue working hard and dedicated their journey to them.
“We’ll keep on working our hardest to serve you through the music we make and the stuff we create,” they said. “Let’s make our dreams happen together and keep carrying on, with courage. This is for all of us!”
The group previously ranked #1 in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, Zack Tabudlo was the most streamed local artist.
It has been a memorable year for Ben&Ben. They released the singles “Could be Something” in June, “Courage” in October, “Autumn” in November, and the full band version of “Courage” on December 1. The band also said they will release a special collaboration song on December 8.
Earlier this year, they released a cover of Christian Bautista's iconic "The Way You Look at Me." Its music video starred Barbie Forteza and David Licauco.
Another of Ben&Ben’s recent achievements includes performing at the FIBA opening. Their songs will also be featured in the theater adaptation of the blockbuster film “One More Chance.”
