Taylor Swift is Spotify’s Global Top Artist for 2023
It’s Taylor – Spotify’s Global Top Artist for 2023!
As digital music service Spotify drops its “2023 Wrapped,” it also released its list of top global artists, global songs, and global albums, among many others.
It’s not surprising that Taylor Swift emerged as the top global artist for the year – with her string of re-recorded albums and a successful tour.
According to Spotify’s newsroom, as the top artist, Taylor achieved “more than 26.1 billion global streams since January 1.”
Swifties from around the globe will also get a surprise when they play any of her songs on Spotify. As the streaming platform explained, “for a limited time, when you play one of her songs on Spotify, watch as the progress bar changes and sparkles to match the song’s era color.”
On Instagram, Taylor expressed her happiness over the news.
“Um ok this is unreal?? I just wanted to say to anyone who listened to my music this year, anywhere in the world, thank you. Getting named Spotify’s Global Top Artist in 2023 is truly the best birthday/holiday gift you could’ve given me,” she said in the caption.
To give back to her fans, Taylor released “You’re Losing Me (From the Vault)” on streaming. The track is from the singer-songwriter’s album, “Midnights.”
“So I was trying to think of a way to thank you, and a lot of you have been asking me to put “You’re Losing Me (From The Vault)” on streaming... so here you go,” she quipped.
Taylor Swift has had a momentous 2023, to say the least. This year, she delighted fans by releasing the "Taylor's Versions" of her albums, including "Speak Now" and "1989."
Recently concluding the 2023 leg of her "Eras Tour," Taylor is set to continue captivating audiences in Asia next year, with scheduled stops in Japan and Singapore.
Keep slaying, Taylor!
