Disney celebrates 100th year with new magical film 'Wish'

It's a yearlong celebration for Disney, which is marking 100 magical years of telling stories.

And in true Disney fashion, it is releasing a new inspiring animated film called "Wish" just for the occasion.

"Wish" tells the captivating tale of Asha, a quick-witted idealist whose powerful wish is answered by the cosmic force, Star.

Together, they embark on a magical, and at times perilous, adventure to conquer their most formidable foe, the ruler of the City of Rosas, King Magnifico.

In collaboration with Ayala Cinemas, Disney Animation Studios recently held an advance screening of "Wish," where Kapuso singer Zephanie performed "Aking Hiling," the Tagalog version of "This Wish," from the soundtrack of the upcoming Disney film.

The song advocates for standing up for what's right and pursuing the greater good despite the fear and challenges that may arise.

Performing "Aking Hiling" at the Disney premiuere feels like a natural progression for Zephanie, who previously sang "When You Wish Upon A Star" from the movie "Pinocchio" during the launch of Disney+ in the Philippines last year.

"Wish" is set to hit the cinemas nationwide starting on Wednesday.

Disney's 100th anniversary took place on October 16, 2023 but they began the celebrations as early as February.
