Children's Play Garden opens in front of Quirino Grandstand

The first-ever Children's Play Garden has opened in Luneta, in Manila.

According to Bernadette Reyes's report on "24 Oras Weekend," Sunday, the playground used recycled materials for its swing, slide, seesaw, and more.

Aside from the play area for the kids, the garden also boasts of 30 species of trees and other plants endemic to the Philippines. To know more about the plants, visitors can scan a QR code that will give them information.

"Ang nais namin dito ay 'yung mga bata makapaglaro. Hindi lang makapaglaro sa isang natural na kapaligiran kundi matuto rin sila tungkol sa ating mga puno at halaman," said Aina Zulueta Valencia, the project head.

Entrance to the Children's Play Garden, in front of Quirino Grandstand, is for free.

The planning and construction of the attraction took over two years. Nearly landmarks include the Rizal Park and the Chinese Garden. —MGP, GMA Integrated News
