Shamcey Supsup calls off trip to El Salvador for Miss Universe; will be cheering for Michelle Dee in 'spirit and prayer'

Shamcey Supsup to miss Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador

National Director for Miss Universe Philippines Shamcey Supsup won’t be able to attend the Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador.

In a post on Instagram, Shamcey said that she had to call off her trip “last minute because of some commitments here in the Philippines.”

Nevertheless, she’s wishing our representative, Michelle Dee, the best as the prelims kick off. “You’re going to ace that interview and own the stage tonight, I just know it,” she said.

“I’m cheering you on in spirit and prayer. I might not be there physically, but I want you to know how much I admire and respect you. Ever since the Sunflower Smiles Event, I've seen just how much more you are than a queen. You're an incredible 'Ate' to so many kids in the spectrum, being their voice and shining light on how we can help them not just get by, but truly excel. You embody what it means to be an MUPH queen – someone who genuinely uses her platform to uplift others,” Shamcey continued in her post.

The Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up also took the time to thank the fans who have been rallying behind Michelle and voting for her.

“Just know, 100 million Filipinos are already so proud, whatever the outcome,” she added.

Michelle Dee has been serving fierce energy ahead of Miss Universe 2023 preliminaries.

The Filipina beauty queen also landed in the Top 10 of Missosology’s hot picks for the pageant.

Michelle is vying for the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe crown with an advocacy for autism awareness.

The Miss Universe coronation night is set for November 18, where Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray will serve as a backstage correspondent.
